David was born in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk in
1947. He trained as a biology teacher at St Mary’s University
College, Twickenham. While a student he was a founder member of Sanford
Housing Co-operative, New Cross. From 1979 until he retired in 2012 David
was Chief Executive of CDS Co-operatives, a registered provider of social
housing, one the largest Co-operative housing service agency in England.
He also served as a member of the board of governors of the Co-operative
College, a national educational charity providing adult education and training
services to the UK’s Co-operative business sector, serving as vice chair of the
governors and chair of the college’s audit committee.
Political Career:
Cllr Rogers is an elected member of the
National Executive Committee of Labour Housing Group and Labour Housing Group
membership secretary . From 2009 to 2014 he was elected president of
Co-Operative Housing International (formerly ICA Housing).
